This Saturday The
WHIP had quite the set up @ Kitchener's Children's Museum. From the great big white
WHIP sign to Moya and Stephanie's gloves, right down to Davey's hand pads. The set up itself was great, and the volunteer support was even better. With Moya, Stephanie, Penny, and Laurie donned in red
WHIP shirts and black bottoms, the view was nothing less than
spectacular. Right from the start the people (especially)
little boys made their way over to our table strapped on the gloves and one after the other hit the
heavey bag set up beside our table.
The day was full of laughs, one memorable moment was when a boy no older than the age of 5 strapped on
pink Everlast gloves and proceeded to hit the
heavey bag for 45 seconds. With Davey complimenting him on his speed, the little boy turned back around and while removing the gloves looked Stephanie dead in the eye and said
"thanks I needed that, I haven't been boxing in years". Now you really have to picture this, a small child all of 3 feet, with honking
PINK 12 ounce gloves on...talking in years! A very good laugh!
Throughout the day members of the
WHIP made their way in to hang out at the table, hit the bag, and hand out flyers. A big
THANK YOU goes out to the Mason family, Scott, Albert, Moya, Laurie, Stephanie and Davey. All hung out and offered what advice they could, did a little boxing, and well just showed their support to a gym they all love.
Thanks again all, and truly I cannot wait to enjoy another event with everyone!
